Natural & remedial ingredients we love and use...

tallow

The game changer with limitless remedial properties. Once you begin your skin journey with tallow, you'll be hooked for life. Containing all fat soluble vitamins a, d, e, & k, all being antioxidants, fighting free radical (oxidative) damage. Tallow assists in boosting collagen production, aids in skin cell regeneration, and prevents sun damage via anti-oxidation. Tallow is non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn't block pores or sebaceous glands, and is safe to use in acne prone skin.

The fatty acid content;

* stearic acid locks moisture in and acts as natural emulsifier,

* oleic acid deeply penetrates the skin, hydrating from the inside out,

* palmitic acid reduces water loss through the skin, assisting with dry/ flaky skin & helping in conditions such as eczema & psoriasis.

Our tallow is always rendered from suet and never from muscle fat, as suet contains a higher level of these beneficial triglycerides and higher stearin content, resulting in a higher melt and congeal point.

jojoba oil

Simmondsia chinensis, jojoba, is rich in antioxidants; quercetin (a flavonoid), vitamin e, vitamin a, & vitamin b complex. Jojoba is one of the most beneficial remedial products for psoriasis & eczema. It is very kind to sensitive skin & a low irritant. Jojoba oil has a long history of use as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-acne, analgesic, & even antipyretic (anti-fever).

Technically, jojoba is a liquid wax, rather than an oil, but the consistency of the wax from this plant allows it to be known & commonly used as an oil for skin & hair. We use organic jojoba grown in Australia, cold press extracted, with no use of hexane solvent.

sea buckthorn pulp oil

Hippophae rhamnoides, this vibrant orange, potent oil is worth its hype. It's a must have ingredient in your skicare routine for youthful, hydrated skin and reduction of oxidation - which causes signs of premature ageing. It's rich in vitamin C, fat-soluble vitamins A and E, carotenoids such as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, and plant sterols that contribute to skin elasticity and hydration.

There are two ways to receive an oil from Sea Buckthorn, one is from the seeds via cold-press, which leads to a less dense nutrient dense oil with less topical benefits. The second is cold-pressing the soft, juicy pulp of the berry which is high in carotenoids, vitamins, and fatty acids, and then furthermore, completing a supercritical extraction of the oil.

Our Sea Buckthorn Pulp Oil is supercritical CO₂ extracted for preservation of extremely delicate nutrients. Supercritical CO₂ extraction happens at low temperatures and without oxygen, so sensitive, remedial compounds are preserved. You get a richer, more stable, more potent oil than cold-pressing the seed oil.

Our Sea Buckthorn is grown in Germany where it is naturalised, and is ACO Organic Certified.

rosehip oil

Rosa canina contains lycopene, retinol, vitamin c, omegas 3, 6, & 9, & linoleic, linolenic, & oleic fatty acids. These highly remedial nutrients boost collagen production promoting skin elasticity, reduce previous sun damage such as sun spots & burns, as well as protect & prevent damage from UV & environmental pollutants.

Our rosa canina is organic pesticide free & cold-press extracted from Chile.

unrefined shea butter

Butyrospermum Parkii, shea butter, is rich in linoleic (vitamin f) & oleic fats, soothing dry & irritated skin. Vitamin f reduces free radical activity from sun damage & environmental pollutants. Shea is suitable for those with nut allergies, & its rich content of vitamin e & omega 3 & 6, make it one of the best skin hydrators & softeners. Shea is known as a humectant, meaning it draws moisture in. It is the most 'ultra-hydrating' ingredient for skin products, whilst also being low-tox.

Our unrefined shea butter originates from Ghana, West Africa, where it is natively grown & is ethically sourced through a traditional hand extracted method. No use of chemical solvents, & no GMO fruits.

black seed oil

Nigella sativa is known for its skin hydrating and nourishing properties, the antioxidant thymoquinone is skin regenerative, anti-inflammatory, and reduces oxidative damage. The essential fatty acids linoleic and oleic acid support the skin barrier by maintaining the epidermal integrity and therefore maintaining skin hydration. These are the reasons black seed oil is beneficial in treating acne, eczema, dermatitis, and reduced signs of aging.

Our cold-pressed black seed oil is certified organic by ACO and USDA and comes from a plastic-free supply chain, only ever contacting stainless steel and glass.

High quality, unrefined BSO has a strong, peppery scent and is dark in colour, you may notice this scent and colour in your product.

copaiba

We are very excited to bring this unique, special ingredient to our collection. Copaiba is not an essential oil as such, but an oleoresin, meaning it is steam distilled from the resin, the sticky secretion, of a Copaifera reticulata tree. Oleoresins are more subtle on the skin than essential oils, perfect for those with skin sensitivities, or young children's skin. The copaiba oleoresin has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces the appearance of blemishes and erythema (redness) and improves skin surface integrity. It has a calming, spicy, woody scent that really turns your skincare application from a routine into a ritual.

Our copaiba oleoresin is steam-distilled, hexane free and is sourced from the tropics of Brazil, where it originates.

coconut oil

Oil from cocos nucifera is full of medium chain triglycerides (saturated fats) such as lauric acid, caprylic acid, & capric acid. These fats are non irritating & gentle on the skin, whilst having intense hydrating benefits and the ability to replenish moisture in dry skin and leave the skin feeling supple. Coconut oil is a key ingredient for people suffering from dermatitis.

Coconut oil is used in skincare as a non-toxic, light weight, non-greasy emollient that reduces inflammation & soothes rashes, & has antimicrobial properties that assist in healing wounds.

Our virgin coconut oil is ACO (Australian Certified Organic) from an Australian company, originating in Sri Lanka. The oil is cold press extracted with no use of hexane solvents.

frankincense boswellia carterii

Frankincense boswellia carterii steam distilled & sourced from a beautiful & well known company here in Western Australia, this tree has natural astringent (skin tightening) properties, reducing fine lines & wrinkles, & prominent skin cell regeneration properties, reducing the appearance of scars & stretch marks.

castor plant oil

Ricinus communis, castor oil, is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into the skin, keeping the skin hydrated. It contains high levels of ricinoleic acid, a potent antioxidant that deeply penetrates & protects the skin from free radical damage (free radicals are molecules with at least one unpaired electron, who will steal electrons from healthy cells within our bodies, driving inflammation and reducing collagen in the skin, resulting in blemishes, dark spots, loose skin & wrinkles).

Castor oil contains other fatty acids, stearic & palmitic, that are natural emollients (hydrate & soothe the skin), & emulsifiers (bind & blend other ingredients), making it useful in skincare products. Modern skincare commonly uses synthetic lab created emulsifiers & emollients.

Our castor oil is free from hexane solvent oil extraction, & is 100% organic cold-pressed in Australia, from Indian castor plant.

beeswax

Cera alba, beeswax, is a humectant meaning it attracts & retains moisture, it assists in the reduction of TEWL - trans-epidermal water loss, & is the perfect emollient, softening & soothing the skin. Beeswax is non-comedogenic, it doesn't clog the pores & sebaceous glands, allowing the skin to breathe well, whilst being thoroughly hydrated. It is low irritant, hypoallergenic, & kind on sensitive skin, allergies to beeswax are rare. The protective layer beeswax forms makes it incomparable for lip balm recipes. Beeswax is popular for soap bars as the palmitic acid content softens the skin, & the humectant capabilities allow the bar to last longer.

Our beeswax is sourced from a passionate apiarist (bee keeper) here in Western Australia, who keeps hives in native bushland & forests. We receive the wax & render it ourselves in house, 2-3 times, until it is pure 100% beeswax. The process could not be more wholesome.

palmarosa

Cymbopogan martinii, palmarosa, also known as Turkish geranium, has a divine lemon-like floral scent. The remedial benefits include balancing skin oils & therefore helping dry or oily skin, rashes, eczema, acne, scarring & wrinkles in ageing skin. Palmarosa oil is used in aromatherapy by women during labour for its calming effect. Palmarosa has benefits against athletes foot and other fungal conditions due to its powerful anti-fungal and antiseptic properties.

We use 6-Star Certified (certified organic) pure organic palmarosa essential oil, with no synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or GMOs, and distilled via steam distillation.

non-nano zinc oxide

Zinc oxide is found in the mineral zincite & is a natural anti-inflammatory that forms a protective barrier to the skin, locking in moisture & stopping the skin from becoming dry. This is what makes it popular as a non-toxic rash treatment. It is the basis of natural sunscreens as it repels sun radiation, & the non-nano form is made up of larger particles that sit on top of the skin, providing coverage from UVB & UVA rays. Nano zinc oxide would absorb into the skin & not create a protective barrier or repel sun radiation.

lavender

Lavendula angustifolia is a powerful anti-inflamatory that reduces the redness in rosacea & acne scarring, & soothes the skin in eczema & psoriasis cases. Linalool antioxidant found in lavender oil scavenges & reverses damage from reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause oxidative damage to cells, leading to premature ageing. However, linalool can be a cause of dermatitis in some people. Not only is lavender oil non-comedogenic, it helps detoxify & clean the skin due to the high antioxidant content.

Our lavendula angustifolia from an Australian business in NSW, is ACO (Australian Certified Organic) approved & is 100% pure organic extract. This certification proves that from growing on a farm (in our case, Bulgaria) through to the finished steam distilled product, no chemicals have been applied.

sweet almond oil

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis is a key ingredient for youthful, glowing skin. Extracted from the seeds of the sweet almond tree via cold-press. It is rich in both vitamin E and vitamin A, two powerful antioxidants. It is most appreciated in skin and hair care for its moisturising, nourishing, and softening abilities, along with its light, non-greasy texture. Sweet almond oil is particularly beneficial in eczema. *Individuals who have almond allergies may react to the topical application of sweet almond oil.
