Ingredients

Tallow from grass-finished, organic suet

Triple-purified, grass-finished tallow sourced suet is the ultimate hero ingredient for a strong skin barrier. It's rich in fatty acids (triglycerides); stearic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid, allowing for deeply penetrated absorption to lock in moisture and deeply hydrate the skin, reducing dry and flaking skin, making it highly sort after for conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Tallow aids the stratum corneum to maintain a strong barrier that will hold in nutrients and moisture for soft, plump, healthy skin.

Jojoba oil, organic, cold-pressed

Jojoba oil is not technically an oil, rather a liquid wax, it closely mimics our skin's natural sebum, allowing for deep absorption without any greasiness. Jojoba is one of the most beneficial remedial oils for psoriasis and eczema, as it promotes healing, reduces irritation, and is very kind on sensitive skin (low irritant). As jojoba is so close to our natural sebum, it helps to balance oil production and is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't block pores. Jojoba is one of the essential natural oils for skincare as it's own benefits are copious but it also helps other remedial ingredients to deliver results by pulling them deeper into the skin.

Sea buckthorn pulp oil, organic, supercritical CO₂ extracted

The pulp oil is rich in vitamin C, fat-soluble vitamins A and E, carotenoids such as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, and plant sterols that contribute to skin elasticity and hydration.

Our Sea Buckthorn Pulp Oil is supercritical CO₂ extracted for preservation of extremely delicate nutrients. Supercritical CO₂ extraction happens at low temperatures and without oxygen, so sensitive, remedial compounds are preserved. You get a richer, more stable, more potent oil than cold-pressing the seed oil.

Black seed oil, organic, cold-pressed

The antioxidant thymoquinone in BSO is skin regenerative, anti-inflammatory, and reduces oxidative damage. Essential fatty acids linoleic and oleic acid support the skin barrier by maintaining the epidermal integrity and therefore maintaining skin hydration and supple skin. BSO is key for acne, eczema, dermatitis, and youthful skin. The aroma is a mild black pepper.

Chamomile, organic, steeped via slow, sun infusion

Power extracted straight from the petals, chamomile petals contain phytochemcials apigenin and chamazulene, which soothe the skin by providing anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and subtle wound healing effects. This slow, heatless infusion over 6 weeks maximises the plants beneficial offerings, especially for sensitive, dry, irritated skin.

Copaiba oleoresin

Copaiba is not an essential oil as such, but an oleoresin, meaning it is steam-distilled from the resin, the sticky secretion, of a Copaifera reticulata tree. Oleoresins are more subtle on the skin than essential oils. The copaiba oleoresin has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces the appearance of blemishes and erythema (redness) and improves skin surface integrity. It has a calming, spicy, woody scent that really turns your skincare application from a routine into a calming ritual.

Frankincense boswellia carterii

Frankincense boswellia carterii is an astringent, tightening the skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It boosts skin cell regeneration, avoiding signs of premature aging from sun or pollutant damage, and reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Your Ritual

Use

This nutrient-rich, dense balm spreads well, a little goes a long way.

Apply a pea-sized amount to your hand and massage into you face, neck and décolletage. The condition of every persons skin varies, so the quantity of applications will differ. For this particular balm, you can remind yourself to 'use less than what you think', it's so potent and rich, let it spread and soak in to nourish. Can be used on any part of the skin where it may be required. This balm is versatile! It is magical on sunburns.

Some enjoy this balm once in the morning once at night, others find it works best for them every day or every other day. Trial what works best for your skin.

This balm makes for an incredible overnight sleep-in hydrator, but is also loved for a slow morning face and neck massage ritual.

100% Natural

Natural products respond to their natural environment.

The beauty of a natural, biocompatible products, is they react to the ambient temperature they are experiencing. You don't get this sort of realism from synthetic, emulsified, manufactured skincare.

In the cooler months, the Supple Skin Tallow Balm may be more dense, simply hold it in your palm for longer to allow for it to warm up and spread easily.

In the warmer months, it may be more soft, take care not to over apply, only using the small amount recommended.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Safe

All ingredients in the Supple Skin Tallow Balm are pregnancy and breastfeeding safe. Some mothers may chose to use this balm as a nipple hydrating balm between feeds, if you chose to do so, wipe away before the next latching, or you may chose to use the Natural Baby Barrier Repair for this.

We favour balm over whipped tallow

Given the heat in Australia, we believe a balm product is more feasible than a whipped product. The dense balm allows a little amount to go a long way, making it more economical and convenient. These 75ml glass jars of balm will last at least a year with proper care. If you'd prefer a cream product rather than a balm, get in touch here for custom orders.

A whipped tallow product of the same jar size won't last as long or spread as far, the shelf life is less than that of a balm. For the customer we find it is far more enjoyable and reliable to use a tallow balm.
